About Winston Feng

Winston Feng is an experienced investor and dynamic business leader with an established track record of operating in global markets and across the life cycle and capital structure of technology companies. After graduating from Cornell University as a National Scholar with honors, Winston began his career in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs. He quickly advanced at different asset management firms and then forged his own path. As the founder and CEO of Mass Ave Global, Winston successfully grew the firm into a billion-dollar enterprise.

Introduction to Finance and Early Career

At Goldman Sachs, Winston split his time between Hong Kong and New York, gaining experience in capital raising and strategic advisory roles for governments, state-owned entities, and multinational corporations in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. Following Goldman Sachs, Winston cultivated his unique investment philosophy and risk management process while investing actively on behalf of Point72 Asset Management and Holocene Advisors.

Founding Mass Ave Global

At the age of 29, on his own initiative and at his own expense, Winston established Mass Ave Global, a technology-focused international investment firm with offices in New York and Hong Kong. Under his leadership as CEO and Chief Investment Officer, the fund reached over $1 billion in AUM within three years.

The flagship fund achieved annualized net returns surpassing key industry benchmarks[1]. Winston’s achievements did not escape attention within the investment industry, and his insight has been cited by HSBC and Credit Suisse.

The early success of Mass Ave Global can be attributed in part to Winston’s vision of an organizational structure promoting collaboration between New York and Asia-based professionals, allowing for efficient knowledge exchange and the sharing of critical industry intelligence. This structure also helped the firm attract international institutional capital.

Contributions to International Business Relations

Winston served as an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in China and Hong Kong. His participation helped connect American businesses with regional stakeholders. He researched economic policies and advised foreign policy and economic think tanks on financial system development in Asia.

His advocacy work encouraged Asian private companies to adopt improved environmental, social, and governance policies. Through these efforts, Winston shaped business practices with positive long-term outcomes for multiple stakeholders.

Philanthropy and Personal Interests

Commitment to social causes is central in Winston’s life. He supports organizations with both his time and financial resources, such as Robin Hood in New York and the American Cancer Society.

In addition to his philanthropic activities, investor Winston enjoys playing tennis, surfing, and golf. He also engages in early-stage investing and is an avid reader of classic literature.
